Australia Post Hiring for Data Engineer (ML) Job at Melbourne Full Time

The role is responsible for working closely with internal teams to deliver data engineering solutions that enable data-driven insights for customers and commercial outcomes. In addition to this, the role is responsible for the smooth running of machine learning pipelines, ML platform maintenance, including automated testing and monitoring with a view to continual improvement of deployed models. Minor improvements and maintenance of the engineering platform to ensure the collection, management and smooth flow of quality and secure information will also be required.

Responsibilities

• Understand and drive execution of the Data Science & Data Commercialisation strategy, aligned to our Enterprise Strategy

• Provides a regular contribution to technology innovation in the data science and data engineering domain to business and team members

• Execute and refine a robust ML Ops pipeline to ensure models are responsive to changes and trends in the data

• Ability to identify and streamline legacy processes through automation and re-engineering

• Provide technical expertise to Data Ops and Data Commercialisation teams

• Active participation in deployment and implementation activities for data engineering solutions, working closely with data operations to ensure a smooth transition of projects to BAU

Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related IT qualification

• Experience in functional programming languages, including Python and shell scripting and experience writing SQL

• Understanding of software development principles • Understanding of data processing pipelines how information flows from the source system to high-value information.

• Understands agile methodology

• Fluent in data manipulation and visualisation through the use of enterprise tools including Tableau and ETL software

• Big data processing framework/technique

• Critical thinking and the capability of generating consistently accurate, useful metrics as well as an enthusiasm for translating data into actionable
