JOB TITLE: Finance & Accounting Analyst

DEPARTMENT NAME: Radford Studio Center Finance & Accounting

LOCATION: Radford Studio Center (TV and Movie Industry)

REPORTS TO (Title): Finance Manager

JOB OVERVIEW:

· This position is responsible for financial planning and analysis for the Radford Finance team, including forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc analysis as needed.

· The position entails maintaining and ensuring the highest level of accuracy, efficiency and appropriate internal controls are in place. The individual must be detailed oriented, pro-active, organized, focused, and possess strong analytical and technical skills. S/He must be able to interact confidently with all staff and management levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial, Planning & Analysis:

· Help drive efficiency through process improvements, including updating, revision and creation of financial models and templates.

· Assist with updating the monthly, quarterly and annual variance analyses comparing to Forecast, Budget, and Prior Year, both consolidated and by budget centers.

· Support in preparing the annual detailed Budget and Long Range Plan, including the development and reporting of KPIs across various subdivisions.

· Assist in the monthly rolling reforecast, including monitoring trends and interpreting financial implications for the various budget center roll-up.

· Assist in the preparation of the monthly Management Package by analyzing and evaluating revenue and expense metrics in achieving financial objectives.

· Preparation of journal entries for the Accounting group aligning with GAAP, policies, internal procedures, and best practices.

· Partner with IS&T to systemize planning and operational processes leveraging data from disparate sources (i.e. Acumatica, TM1, Bass, Rentalworks, SmartTime).

· Assist in the preparation of the monthly Capital Forecast and evaluate when to place projects into service.

· Tracking and maintaining capital projects, including analyses of variances to forecast and budget.

· Limited support back-up for the Finance Manager at Radford Studio Center.

Accounts Receivable and Billing:

· Creation and actualization of billable work orders in preparation for invoicing to the clients.

Other Finance Responsibilities:

· Create Capital and Expense Requisitions, as needed, and follow-up on open and un-invoiced pending POs.

· Ad hoc financial analysis and projects. The above duties are subject to change depending on staffing and current needs of the department.

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Work Experience

· Minimum 2 years in a Financial Planning & Analysis role

· Experience with Acumatica and/or TM1 Financial System preferred

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

· 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college.

Knowledge/Skills

· Must possess strong accounting skills and very detailed-oriented

• High mathematical, technical, and analytical skills required.
• Advanced Excel knowledge including financial analysis & modeling

· Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, under minimal supervision, while effectively meeting extremely tight deadlines

• Ability to prioritize assignments and projects with high sense of urgency

· Ability to work overtime, as required/ needed.
