The Cyber Security Defence Centre Manager (CSDCM) reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The CSDM is responsible for building and managing the Bureau’s cyber security operations centre called Cyber Security Defence Centre (CSDC) and incident response and reporting capability.

All of the Bureau’s ICT and OT and application development environments are within scope of this role.

The CSDCM is the technical and people leader for the security operational staff, while partnering with other Bureau and external stakeholders to manage cyber risk. The role is responsible for a wide range of security monitoring which will include on-premise, cloud and software as a service environments.

The role is required to engage with key business and operational partners in managing the detection, response, and remediation of cyber related attacks on the Bureau while contributing and delivering services and projects that support the cyber security direction, priorities and activities.

All aspects and facets of incident response fall within the responsibility of the CSDCM who is required to build and operate a 24x7x365 cyber security defence centre including outsourcing level 1 SOC.

The role oversees all security incident investigations including forensic investigations, security change management, vulnerability management and manages security testing services.

The CSCDM is also responsible for enterprise certificate management.
The CSDM has one direct employee report and is a member of the CSDC team which is made up of nine permanent employees. There are also variable contractor resources, based on the changing needs of the Bureau.
