Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a PC Technician to provide on-site desktop and technical support to Al-Pac’ IT end users, including responding to and resolving trouble calls, providing training, and keeping Al-Pac’s computer inventory up to date.

Role Responsibilities:

• Computer hardware repairs and upgrades:

o Maintain approximately 450 PC workstations and 150 Laptops throughout the Mill and other locations. o Diagnose and repair/replace/upgrade memory, hard drives, network cards, etc. o Receive, test, install and configure computers, printers, monitors, hand held devices, audio visual equipment, Polycom video conferencing units, Smartboards, MS Surfaces and other hardware devices for use on the Al-Pac Network. o Maintain inventory of all hardware. o Install and troubleshoot printers, networked and standalone

• Computer Software: o Maintain the OS for the Al-Pac PC workstation (Microsoft Windows). o Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite, Active Directory and SCCM. o Install and configure common devices, drivers, and network clients for use in the Al-Pac production environment. o Test new upgrades and software to evaluate production capabilities. o Occasional manual software installations
• Inventory Control o Tag and record all computer equipment on the IT inventory database. o Provide information for off-site repairs and warranty service

Role Requirements:

• Completion of college diploma or its equivalence in information and communication technologies or computing science, supplemented by 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated mastery in troubleshooting and managing information and communications technology
• Working knowledge of the following: o Windows 10 /Microsoft 365 o Imaging computers and installing software with SCCM o Detailed knowledge of all components of a PC o PC troubleshooting, maintenance and tuning and basic computer networking skills o Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), SCCM, Change Gear and iOS devices o Network Client Software, Client Access, Microsoft Networking, MS Exchange, Internet browsers o Experience with common troubleshooting techniques, and equipment (Memory testers and related software)

• Experience troubleshooting and supporting end users in both an office and industrial environment
