Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Safe and efficient operation of equipment in the packaging department and cellars used for the processing of grapes to wine
Handle components (i.e., Closures, capsules, labels, etc.) in proper time and procedure as to maximize line efficiency
Responsible for the quality of packaging, correct case markings, and completing all required quality and food safety checks and paperwork
Safe operations of Pallet Jacks and recharging system
Participate in continuous improvement activities and training to increase knowledge, skills, and abilities with regards to high-speed manufacturing and wine bottling.
Assist Cellar persons in setup and dismantling of cellar equipment (fittings, pumps, hoses, etc.)
Operate vintage machinery including but not limited to: crusher destemmer, press, cooling system
Perform red cap management techniques such as pump overs, punch downs, and barrel management
General barrel work: cleaning, filling hydrating, emptying, stirring, topping etc.
Empty barrel management including barrel treatment, empty barrel inventory management and sampling
Operating and cleaning of grape sorting equipment
General housekeeping in the cellars – cleaning out garbage/recycling containers, cleaning sample bottles, exterior of tanks, floors etc.
Following written and/or oral procedures and policies, reporting any deviations
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a winery production facility an asset
Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, navigate stairs, stand for extended periods of time
Must have an excellent standard of safety, work performance, and attendance
Able and willing to work indoors and outdoors in varying environments and conditions
Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Available for all days and shifts, including weekends, evenings, and graveyards
Bonus Points:
Production and/or safety-specific certifications
Forklift Operator’s Certificate
Level III Industrial First Aid
Previous experience working in harvest in a large production facility
Passion for wine and wine production
