Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Australia Full Time

This position is based at Ayers Rock Resort, NT.

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to assist in the management of the Ayers Rock Resort accounting function with particular emphasis on the accuracy of the daily financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

Your key role will see you:

• Perform all duties involved in daily cashiering.
• Complete Bank Reconciliation spreadsheets for all segment accounts on a daily basis
• Maintain up to date variance reports showing details of unders and overs being posted to the Ledger
• Prepare and post the Daily Management Report related journals and liaise with outlets and Systems Admin for any reporting or systems issues.
• Process Officers Checks on a timely basis to ensure that Outlets receive the correct credits and also complete the Fringe Benefits Tax report where applicable. Preparing and posting related journals
• Perform all duties involved in the daily processing of resort mail
• Preparation of allocated monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Identify areas where further staff training may be required both within the department and in areas outside the Finance department that impact on daily reporting data. Assist in implementing any changes required
• Complete necessary postings in relation to non-interfacing systems throughout the resort to facilitate the reporting of revenue, expenses and COS to the General Ledger
• Assist in auditing and processing resort invoices.
• Conduct regular float audits throughout the resort

You will have:

• Experience in a similar role
• Ability to work within a team and coordinate with team members effectively
• The ability to work unsupervised
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in a hotel environment would be well regarded
• High level of written and verbal English communication skills
• Self-motivated, hardworking and well organised approach to the achievement of departmental goals
• Knowledge and experience in excel spreadsheets would be highly regarded
