Unilever International (UI) is an alternative but complimentary route to market, servicing white space opportunities not exploited by local operating countries. It is a global business unit with 9 hubs (Singapore, US, UK, Korea, India, Dubai, France, Philippines, and Australia) with a diverse range of products, with expertise in utilizing 3rd party distributors and consolidators to reach consumers in over 75 countries.
UI have been operating successfully as an alternate RtM to complement MCOs to serve these white spaces through a network of 500+ market expansion service providers and specialists via seeding initiatives. The market expansion providers or distributors in countries provide brand building and customer development services to UI under the agreed operating frameworks using the brand toolkits provided. UI have strategically evolved its portfolio from availability led growth to seeding in the last 5 years.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We’re looking for a leader with a passion to drive growth. The role is designed to support the network establishment and execution of supply initiated through Unilever International where Canada cluster is either a sourcing unit or Canada/US is the receiving unit of supply. The Sr. SC personnel is to work with the extended supply chain teams within North America and sourcing clusters, while managing end to end SC cycle of the UI Canada business hub.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service Management
Manage 1 CSA (dotted line) to ensure order-to-cash process is managed efficiently.
Supply Chain lead in capturing risks, opportunities, and deliveries in monthly sales objectives
Partner with Business Development Director & CD team on SC strategies to enable best in class customer service
Link supply and demand planning activities with global cluster logistics teams, cluster customer service teams, and third-party order management teams (Cap Gemini)
Deliver SC KPI to Target (e.g. Dispatch Rate, Stock Levels, Cost)
Lead SC activities with key customers during JBP (joint business planning) to provide strategies to further develop customer performance.
Being a business strategist on customer insights, business evolution
Supply & Demand Planning Management
Lead S&OP process with UI Canada BDM’s and global planning team: focus on quality of forecast + order generation aligned to lead times + holding sourcing teams accountable for supply commitments
Manage supply plans cross functionally of $65M with 8 global sourcing hubs (China, Philippines, Korea, Thailand, Dubai, India, Egypt, Sri-Lanka) & 3 Americas sourcing hubs (Canada, Mexico, USA
Manage and deploy stock accordingly (either direct dispatch from SU to customer or via DC) to support import orders, on time and in full
Partner with CD, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure that export orders are serviced accordingly
Help establish MTF/MTO models with complex network of sourcing units and different supply strategies, to ensure business targets are met
F4G and Automation
Develop and drive savings agenda and 5S program for UI Canada business
Continuously look to drive business efficiency by leading automation on manual tasks, including use of Anaplan, Salesforce, Planning tools etc.
Logistics Management
Collaborate with global logistics to manage global supply imports into North America based on customer orders
Managing and partnering with NA logistics on local transportation costs, load maximization opportunities, direct ship opportunities to drive a savings agenda
Partner with UI Logistics team on logistics forecasts for global hubs and managing financial impacts with current logistics conditions
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in business, finance or supply chain management.
5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and minimum 3 years of relevant Canadian Retail customer service experience with CPG
Evidence of experience in customer collaboration is preferred
Experience in working with retail replenishment systems (GRS, Retail Link, JDA, SAP)
Prior experience of Oracle Cloud supply chain and/or ERP is preferred
Demonstrated analytical and conceptual problem-solving ability; excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure with autonomy
The ability to effectively lead and engage cross functional global teams and a willingness to take responsibility and accountability
Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to deliver results in a lean, agile organization and able to adapt to changing priorities
Understanding of key financials, P&L and cost to serve models
Demonstrated system development and execution and/or performance delivery through outsourced part will be seen as advantage
