Education Hiring for Senior Facilities Services Officer – Finance Team Job at Brisbane Full Time

About the role

In this role you will contribute to a variety of other projects finance functions across the business in order to deliver timely, accurate and high-quality solutions and outcomes for clients. You will continue to build the service capability and credibility of the team.

Key tasks:

• Assist with the preparation of budget forecasts and monitoring of financial performance, including assist with the processing of project creation and variation requests for capital projects in SAP, including uploading plans and making budgets adjustments.
• Monitor and update project budget allocations and assist the Capital Budget team with activities related to the management of program/project budget realignment in SAP
• Collaborate with, and provide advice and assistance to clients in the use of a range of departmental infrastructure systems and provide interpretation and analysis of data, maintaining responsibility for data integrity, including adherence to audit requirements and data reporting standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial processing in SAP, across a range of transactions, in order to meet the required the Department’s legislative requirements, systems, practices and processes, including end of month reports and expense journals, end of month project accruals and preparing working documents and journals
• Undertake research, analysis and evaluation to provide specialist advice, information and support services across a broad range of infrastructure, planning and asset management related issues, as part of the Infrastructure Finance Team.
• Support business improvements and provide support to managers and team members to implement improvement and promote best practice within the team, including SAP training in relation to SAP Project System and processes for capital projects to clients.
• Prioritise workload to ensure that services and programs are delivered within required timeframes, including processing requests for SAP access, system access, checking and assigning tasks from ServiceNow.
• Undertake other finance and administrative duties as determined

The ideal applicant will possess the following

• Contemporary project system management experience – including knowledge/ the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation and directives, best practice and ability to quickly interpret relevant policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge in implementing budgeting concepts and strategies to ensure operational budgets are robust and managers are accountable for expenditure.
• Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
• Good communication skills; including the confidence to present workshops to small groups and management.
• Ability to mentor other team members and respect diverse perspectives.
• Dedication to customer service and continuous improvement.
