WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Staffing Specialist provides logistical and administrative support to the staffing process for the Climate & Sustainability NAMR Virtual System (C&S). C&S is a newly established virtual system to advance BCG’s position in Climate & Sustainability by developing our offers, investing boldly in clients and topics, and recruiting the external market to become the # 1 strategic partner for climate and sustainability transformations. C&S is unique in that it operates like a geographic system in the NAMR region with consulting and expert career track staff who are physically located in many BCG offices around the region. The C&S market is developing at an unprecedented pace across industries and around the world and will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years. As part of a newly created system within BCG, the Staffing Specialist will have a key role in shaping and managing BCG’s approach to climate and sustainability work. They will need to work closely and collaboratively with existing staffing structures to support the staffing functions by performing other general logistical and administrative functions.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

• Provide overall administrative, tracking, and reporting support to the Staffing team in staffing all levels of the Consulting Staff
• Maintain ownership for ensuring Staffing And More (SAM) database is up-to-date, including current and future staffing commitments, understanding of start/end dates, charge codes, investments vs. billable work
  • Prepare and send Staffing confirmations
  • Correspond with Partners and Principals regularly to confirm case dates and team configurations and track status of case teams; incorporate into SAM and reports
  • Track and update staff vacation requests and other ins and outs (e.g., Time for You, parental leave, secondments) and input into SAM
  • Work closely with local Finance team to ensure alignment between SAM and Time & Billing
  • Work closely with local CDC team to ensure alignment between SAM and Career Development processes (e.g., triggering downward and upward feedback)
• Responsible for triggering all case code openings for C&S: collect information required to trigger opening of all case, proposal, and investment codes, working with billing and executing Partners, Executive Assistants, and Finance
• Support PTO survey execution for C&S non-Partner consulting team members; update tool with case information and meet with PTO facilitators as required to discuss staff changes and staffing pipeline
• Responsible for key staffing reporting: weekly availability, staffing-by-employee, billability leakage, and reconciliation reports; bi-weekly NAMR Industrial Goods P/PL deployment; monthly reporting and slides on project and investment portfolio for Monthly Management Reports for C&S
• Conduct searches on specific skills or experience requested for cases staffing (e.g., using Navigator, eCD)
• Staffing bios: email staffing bios and other relevant information to O/P/PLs and Talent Managers who are staffing cases; ensure non-partner consulting team bios are up-to-date and available on Navigator
• Be able to use Career Development (CD) databases with enough fluency to (a) cross-check with SAM for accuracy, and (b) to cover urgent CD requests as backup
• Develop working relationships with broad cross-section of C&S to facilitate the transparent and timely flow of information
• Respond to special projects and other internal requests
• Evolve with the role over time to include additional responsibilities
• Provide support to execute C&S people activities where relevant, such as affilition events, people updates and C&S-related learning & development

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• Bachelors degree required
• 3-5 years administrative support experience, preferably at a professional services firm

• Proficient computer skills: MS C&S, Excel, PowerPoint

• Organizational skills: ability to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment; ability to follow a demanding schedule: complete assigned work independently, take initiative and demonstrate ownership and tenacity, overcome obstacles and prioritize tasks quickly

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
