Enghouse Hiring for Database Developer – Oracle at Toronto, ON Full Time

The Role:
The role will require a mix of technical excellence, good communication skills and process knowledge in order to support and manage our customer’s environments.

What you will be doing:
Develop applications using Oracle 18c/11g, SQL *PLUS, TOAD and SQL*LOADER

Develop Complex database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL.

Experience with backend scripting such as JAVA, PL/SQL, Python

Experience in Oracle 18c/11g installation in RHEL 6/7 environment

Experience on RHEL 6/7 implementation, administration, installation & maintenance

Help with tier 1/2 support for all customers via phone, email & ticketing system

Have the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, sometimes on short-notice due to the nature of a 24×7 operation, requires on call participation in a rotating schedule

Handle customer cases through its entirety providing service that is in line with SLA contract

Escalate any potential problems and client support issues as per SLA contract

Coordinate with 3rd party vendors both HW and SW to manage resolution on behalf of customers

Monitor and analyze customer’s environments, providing recommendations for continuous improvements

Use knowledge to provide risk analysis and recommendations

Ensure that department policies and procedures are adhered to

Participate in monthly customer support reviews as required

Run and monitor software performance tests, execute functional tests

What you have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Systems Engineering or equivalent

2+ years hands on experience in Oracle 18c/11g

2+ years hands on experience working with RHEL 6/7

The ability to be a self-starter, and be able to manage expectations with customers

A strong ability to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers – in person, on phone, and by written communications

Strong communication skills and a strong sense of urgency

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; client-centric, professional, friendly, courteous

Advanced troubleshooting Skills

Supporting and Deployment of applications

Ability to work independently and with other teams to drive issues to resolution
