Defaqto Hiring for Software Tester Job at Aylesbury, England Full Time

Defaqto’s software solutions support all layers of the financial services industry – helping product providers to design, market and sell financial products and helping financial advisers to provide compliant advice.

We are currently seeking a skilled Software Tester to join us on a permanent basis. Working within a small team you’ll be responsible for executing quality assurance procedures on Defaqto’s software, ensuring any errors are identified and corrected before being released to our clients.

The role is based in our Haddenham office where we operate a hybrid working model providing a balance of home and office working.

What you’ll be doing*

• Developing a clear understanding of the business requirements for a specific software development project through regular communication with the Technical Project Manager, Business Analysts, Development Manager and Software Developers
• Planning, creating and maintaining Specflow test suite based on project and business requirements
• Executing manual and/or automated tests for each individual business requirement and completing additional testing to support each software release.
• Undertaking root cause analysis of test failures in order to liaise with the relevant people to resolve issues
• Performing exploratory testing to identify issues not covered in test plans and subsequently updating test plans to improve their coverage

What you need to succeed

• Experience working in a software test role, testing modern websites
• Experience creating test scripts and use cases from user analysis sessions and project documentation
• Working knowledge of Gherkin and use with Cucumber or Specflow
• Good understanding of technologies such as Internet applications, databases, browsers, mobile devices etc
• Knowledge of formal testing concepts such as functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, load testing and platform testing
• Strong testing skills, including
• Functional testing
• Regression testing
• Integration testing
• Cross browser testing
• Understanding of Gherkin language
