We’re looking for someone keen to develop a career in finance whilst working in a creative start up environment. This role is part of the supportive finance team and you will work closely with the Head of finance. The successful candidate will have some experience in book keeping and aspire to complete the CIMA qualification which Freeda will support with.

Freeda is already the leading media brand in Italy where it was founded, with now a highly successful Spanish site and in the UK is building from our launch of the English site almost three years ago with already the highest reach and huge potential to grow further.

Job description:

This role will support the day to day running of the finance function through:

• Managing the accounts payable function, including processing invoices, preparing bank payments and being the main point of contact for all suppliers.
• Processing employee expense claims.
• Ensuring compliance with Company policy relating to finance and being the main point of contact for employees in relation to this.
• Management of prepaid Company credit cards, ensuring all transactions are properly supported and processed into the accounting system.
• Preparation of standard accounting entries as part of the month end close process, e.g. accruals and prepayments for operational expenses, expense allocations etc.
• Maintenance of the supplier master list and management of recurring operational expenses, e.g. office costs, utility bills, employee mobile phone spend etc.
• Preparation of cash book entries (payments, receipts).
• Follow up of overdue sales invoices with customers to ensure timely receipt of cash.
• Other ad hoc projects and analysis.

Requirements:

• Experience working with excel.
• An interest in and affinity with the Freeda brand and the content Freeda is creating.
• A fierce attention to detail.
• Good team-working and communication skills.
• Be reliable and able to deliver work on deadline.
• A keen interest in all aspects of accounting and finance.
• Be committed to gaining a full accounting qualification within three years.
