NHS England and NHS Improvement Hiring for Accounting manager Job at Reading, England Full Time

The role is permanent. Ideally, we are looking to fill the role full time however we are willing to be flexible on hours. As a Accounting Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the South East Finance Team Sector/Area. Reporting team has a structure which can enable career progression further down the line. It would be an advantage if applicant has the Oracle experience, Good Excel skills are essential and ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and take ownership of their respective area of responsibility.

Successful candidate needs to be adaptable to change, be able to work independently as well as being able to work as part of a team.

The post holder will support the Head of Department and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes is planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery:

• Monitoring and providing control for the revenue expenditure budgets in the Regional Office (South East) of NHS England and NHS Improvement
• To advise budget holders on the financial matters that can be of a complex and contentious nature.
• To ensure that financial probity is maintained by the budget holders at all times
• To identify and analyse any opportunities for the more efficient deployment of resources within budget area by providing sophisticated, high quality information and analysis
• Manage the team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management.
• Liaise with appropriate functions within the regions, organisation and the Sector.
• Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns
• Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisation.
• Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the team.
• Oversight and management of all aspects of the team/ project budgets.
