MAIN PURPOSE:

Assistant Accountant for Australia is responsible for the AR & AP function of the Australia business unit and liaise closely with Australia Accountant and report operationally to Operations Manager in Australia. The role is expected to provide support to Asia Pacific Finance function within the group where applicable.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of sales invoices and ensure they are sent to client on a timely basis.
• Preparation of intercompany invoices for APAC and ensure balances are reconciled monthly.
• Monitoring and action of debtor ageing to ensure prompt settlement of issued invoices.
• Preparing for and taking part in periodic debt & unbilled sales call with corporate office.
• Ensuring that the sales ledger and purchase ledger are being maintained accurately and reconciled.
• Manage accounts payable function and provide support where applicable.
• Issuing weekly WIP reports to local operations and liaising with local engineering to minimise WIP at month end.
• Bank posting and preparation of bank reconciliation reports.
• Monthly credit card reconciliation.
• Issuing, maintaining & reconciling Petty cash register
• Assist in APAC audit for timely completion of APAC audit and tax requirements.
• Any additional duties assigned as required.

Job Requirements:

· Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Accounting or other relevant Business Degree

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to prioritise and work to tight timeframes
• Positive attitude and a great team player
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
• Competent with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $52,278.39 – $82,677.35 per year
