Position: HRIS Specialist

Reports to: Manager, Total Rewards & Systems

Position Term: Full Time Permanent

Primary Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Workplace Type: Remote (within Canada)

The HRIS Specialist is a key member of our People & Culture and will report to the Manager, Total Rewards & Systems. They will provide coordination, management, and monitoring of HR information systems to help guide and inform decisions that optimize the employee experience. This includes the collection & analysis of data as well as the maintenance, security, integrity, processing, & reporting of the data & information in the HRIS systems.

Duties and responsibilities

Analysis and Reports

• Manipulate data sets from multiple internal data sources, performing in depth data analytics & predictive modelling to understand emerging trends, patterns, or insights using statistical analysis; provide recommendations & insights to address any opportunities for improvement for internal, external & leadership audiences.
• Design, test & implement automated & customized reporting & enhance self-service & usability for the team.
• Proactively keeps abreast of issues & trends in HR & HRIS topics including next generation technologies such as social, mobile, AI & big data.

HRIS Administration, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Oversee & manage all aspects of the HR information systems to include administration, integration, maintenance, optimization, upgrades, security, utilization, user access & licenses, troubleshooting, etc. Ensure data integrity by regularly auditing data to ensure it is accurate.
• Maintain vendor relationships & vendor contracts and ensure that all aspects of system functionalities are utilized, understood & running effectively for full return on investment.

Projects

• The HRIS Specialist will be a key member of the Workday Transition Project Team and will work closely with the Workday Implementation Lead to ensure the system is fully functional, users are trained, and the new platform is up and running successfully according to the project roadmap.
• Champion the sunsetting of current HR Systems (Ceridian Dayforce), archiving, and transferring required data accurately in the new Workday system.
• Routinely collaborates with internal teams to develop system efficiencies and process optimization.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Statistics, Human Resources or similar field.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience configuring an HRIS and experience with implementation support of Workday.
• 5 years of experience in analytical modeling & analytics with relevant tools.
• Experience with data management and use of statistical software, ability to engage in meta-analysis, statistical analysis, & predictive modeling.
• Experience developing customized & complex reports for various audiences
• CHRP/CHRL designation or in-process is an asset.
• Advanced command of Power BI, MS Office particularly Word and Excel.
