Queensland Health Hiring for Assistant Finance Officer, Accounts Payable Job at Brisbane Full Time

The role

Reporting to the Team Lead Accounts Payable you will undertake payment of accounts utilising the Vendor Invoice Management System (VIM), including but not limited to purchase orders, non-purchase orders and staff claims. In preparations for the payment of accounts you will ensure that all payments are completed within relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function, accurately, efficiently and within departmental priorities. You will input, update and retrieve data from the current Queensland Health Finance systems, S4 Hana and VIM.

In addition, you will also provide advice on accounts payable issues through communication and consultation with vendors, customers and Queensland Health.

The successful person

As the successful candidate you will have experience in a similar role delivering an accounts payable function. You will have knowledge of an integrated computerised financial management system, preferably S4 Hana and VIM, and other software applications (eg databases, spreadsheets) relevant to an accounts payable unit, including data entry and retrieval skills.

You will be a self-motivated team member with a strong focus on delivering high quality, accurate finance services with the ability to communicate clearly, problem solve, and meet deadlines. In addition, you will have a proven track record in building and maintaining appropriate relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders.

Your knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function consistent with Queensland Health and other government agency directives will see you succeed in this role.

The branch mission is ‘partnering for financial excellence in healthcare’ and the branch has around 209 staff.

Finance Transactional Services provides essential financial services to the Department and Hospital and Health Services. FTS is comprised of 3 further teams – Accounts Payable which provides a dedicated accounts payable service to all HHS’s, Finance Business Centre which provides support for DoH which includes EHealth and HSQ and Statewide Finance Services which provides banking, corporate card services and FAMMIS master data support for Queensland Health.
