We are now searching for a finance guru who can join our team and support the business in a broad and varied role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role represents a great opportunity for you to leverage your education and experience and provide business stakeholders with valuable, commercial, quantitative analysis and help manage a successful and growing online business.

The role is responsible for ensuring that our accounting functions are maintained to a high level and with exceptional accuracy, as well as analysing business performance using financial and non-financial data analytics and decision frameworks.

What you will be doing

Accounting

• Completing month end processes including preparation of journals and monthly reconciliations
• Preparing month end files and schedules
• Completing monthly client invoicing
• Providing accurate and timely cash allocations for client payments
• Following up overdue invoices and resolving any issues
• Undertaking timely and accurate client invoicing and efficient cash collections to minimise outstanding debtor balance
• Maintaining the accounts payable ledger
• Processing weekly payment runs
• Checking and processing employee expense claims
• Managing payroll function for casual employees
• Assisting with the preparation of BAS, payroll and income tax returns
• Assisting with business and process improvement projects
• Monitoring financial performance and identify risks and opportunities
• Driving efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting

• Preparing timely and accurate P&L, cashflow and balance sheets for month end management and board reporting
• Analysing and reporting of financial and non-financial business metrics
• Assisting the finance team with month end CFO reporting pack
• Assisting the finance team with compliance and statutory reporting
• Providing support to the Finance Manager with budget and forecast requirements
• Reviewing, analysing and interpreting operating results to provide commentary and make recommendations
• Providing support on all web analytics development across reporting, strategy and driving actionable insights to business stakeholders
• Partnering with various business teams to assist with preparing key business cases for new business opportunities
• Undertaking other ad hoc financial accounting & analytical support

What you’ll need to bring to the role

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, or related field
• CA/CPA qualified or studying towards
• A minimum of two years’ working experience in a related field
• Self-motivated and flexible
• Excellent time management skills & proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to pick up new concepts, and reporting tools quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent stakeholder relations
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Able to work well autonomously and within the wider team
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to synthesize large sets of data
• A genuine interest in personal finance
