Job Description
To promote a flexible workforce, the University will consider applications from individuals seeking full time, part time, job share, or term time only working arrangements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced health educator to lead the design and development of our new provision in Healthcare Education. The first cohort of nursing students (Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing) will commence their studies in Aberystwyth in September 2022. Building on these new degrees and working in partnership with local Health Boards and other key stakeholders, we are looking for an individual who can lead our ambition to develop this provision more broadly within the sector.
We are looking for a skilled individual to bring their expertise to lead the continued development of our Healthcare Education within the University and in the wider sector. Building on these new Degree Programmes, you will be expected to provide academic leadership, as well as seeking opportunities to expand our provision in healthcare education
As part of its civic mission, Aberystwyth University is seeking to find ways of supporting the workforce and community needs of Mid-Wales by increasing opportunities for individuals to educate healthcare professionals in the locality. Jointly working with Local Health Boards and other key stakeholders, the aim is to design and deliver a number of professional health-related courses (at pre and post-registration levels and Continuing Professional Development). The new BSc degrees in pre-registration Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing as well as a Return to Nursing Programme (pending NMC approval) are the start of this vision. Provision has been developed through the medium of English and Welsh. This vision comes at a timely point with invitations to tender to all existing and potential new providers of healthcare education by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).
