Sr. Financial Analyst – Sales Finance

The primary purpose of the Sales Senior Financial Analyst is to be a strategic partner of Sales and Finance leadership, continually improve top-line revenue while focusing on profitability by using timely analytics, preparing and evaluating monthly and quarterly business reviews, including brand and customer level profitability, trade spending, variance analysis, financial analysis, financial modeling, deductions management, brokerage, and other non-trade selling expenses. The Sales Finance team own all financial accounts between gross and net revenue, striving continuously to optimize profitability while utilizing strong analytical skills to bring exposure and awareness to Leadership. This position will work to develop and maintain sound business partnerships across a wide range of functional areas, including sales, marketing, accounting, finance, and IT. The Sales Finance team is currently leading a company-wide initiative to revamp how trade promotions are forecasted and expensed throughout our Business Intelligence ecosystem.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Provide financial analytics and business insight for support and execution of the Sales strategic plan.
• Contribute to the controllership of our trade management system inputs, business partnership support, and continuous improvement culture.
• Owner of all analytics, recommendations, and visibility for all financial accounts between gross and net revenue.
• Prepare monthly financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risks, and opportunity for all Sales Finance owned accounts.
• Analyzes financial results versus forecast, plan, and prior year, and investigate variances, assessing risk and providing leadership with latest estimates; delivers meaningful business insights through the presentation of financial results to executive leadership team and sales team.
• Develops new sales and trade spending strategy and reporting, providing visibility to volume and spending, analyze weekly and monthly trade results at sales channel, customer, and product category level.
• Supports the planning and development of trade expense reporting by sales channels, key customers, product categories.
• Partner with sales team on a weekly basis and oversees all processes within Trade Promotion Management life cycle, developing and implementing necessary controls to ensure trade funds are being used efficiently to promote profitable growth and brand awareness.
• Oversee monthly trade forecast modeling and reconciliations.
• Collaborates and coordinates with other departments, gathering data to conduct and review financial analysis on promotional activity, line review strategies, merchandising, pricing decisions, co-marketing activities, etc.
• Collaborates and analyzes the business case for customer price exceptions for everyday business and promotions with sales, marketing, and finance.
• Establish and maintain adequate internal controls to ensure trade and selling expenses remain in compliance with policies and controls.
• Documents policies, procedures, and educates employees.
• Lead and facilitate process improvements including implementation of best practices and standardization.
• Manages Oberto’s trade system, its implementation and on-going maintenance.
• Contributes as an advanced user of Oberto’s trade management system, TradePro and Oberto’s business intelligence system, Board.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent field required

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years’ experience in high-paced planning and analysis or sales finance environment.
• Trade finance experience within a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) organization highly desired.
• Trade Management System (MEI/AFS/TradePro) experience preferred.
• Experience with a Corporate Performance Management, ERP and/or Business Intelligence system a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent customer service with high degree of professionalism.
• Detail oriented with very strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Self starter, able to work in a demanding, high stress environment bbalancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Strong ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to develop collaborative working relationships and lead team meetings and projects.
• Ability to pick up new information systems and work between many IT systems easily to manage information including AFS, QAD, BOARD, SharePoint, BI, TradePro, PowerQuery, PowerBI, etc.
• Computer knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to speak, read and write in English.

WAGE: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
