The Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing and deploying training and development systems that facilitate improved organizational performance. Through collaboration with factory leadership, this position will ensure training and development systems are being deployed using best practices and aligned to expectations to ensure engagement and development of the Canadian transformer remanufacturing and service employees. The ideal candidate is an agent of change with expertise in adult learning methodologies, engagement strategies, and coaching techniques. Lean management system experience and driving organizational transformation is essential for the success of this position.
Your responsibilities
Develop a robust onboarding, training and development programs (theoretical and practical) that meets the Stoney Creek facility and Field Service operations requirements that is aligned with the Hub.
Manage the program including certification.
Assess current state and recommend improved training solutions to achieve optimum employee performance and development.
Collaborate with Hub leadership, Operations leaders, HRBP’s, and support functions to identify training and development improvements.
Consult and partner with HR to improve on-boarding programs for the workforce.
Track and review training effectiveness measures (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement of programs and processes.
Manage training resources (people, tools, equipment, facilities) and budget.
Utilize Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) system tools to drive business excellence at all levels of the organization.
Actively engage in benchmarking and sharing of best practices with internal and external partners/locations.
Obtain and/or produce effective training materials utilizing Adult Learning methodologies and develop Trainer capabilities to deliver effective training.
Build organizational capability, drives accountability, and increases employee engagement.

Background/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Training & development or equivalent
4+ years of relevant experience in designing, administering, and/or delivering training programs. Hourly workforce training experience a plus.
Experience working in a fast paced, continually changing, matrixed manufacturing environment.
Lean management system experience is a strong asset.
