The opportunity

We are looking for an Accounting Operations Consultant within the Finance team. This role is offered on a flexible full-time basis. You can be based in any of our offices in Australia or New Zealand.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide accounting advice to the wider finance team and business as required
• Provide support and insight to the finance leaders around payroll reconciliations and journal entries provided by our external payroll provider
• Provide assistance in the preparation of key financial reports on the firm’s results and the year-end close process
• Liaise with GDS GL team and review work completed for accuracy and completeness
• Assistance to identify process efficiencies and work towards implementing these improvements and work on other ad hoc projects

Skills and attributes for success

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Commerce
• Commenced or looking to commence either the CA Program (Chartered Accounting Australia & New Zealand) or CPA qualification (Certified Practising Accountant), or holds an equivalent

qualification

• 3 plus years of experience in a finance function, with financial accounting and management accounting experience
• Knowledge of payroll accounting and journals is advantageous
• Understanding of key accounting principles and IFRS
