Payroll Supervisor – Houston, TX

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records. Ensuring compliance by following policies and procedures. Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team with weekly W-2 and daily 1099 payrolls.
• Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately.
• Follow and enforce federal, state, and local laws.
• Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support payments.
• Maintain employee payroll records are kept up-to-date and accurate.
• Address payroll related queries and requests from employees.
• Resolve payroll errors timely and efficiently.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures.
• Acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needed.
• Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to carry out payroll processes.
• Reconcile reports as needed.
• Define standards and reusable approaches within the payroll operational framework.
• Develop best practices to improve efficiency of payroll processes.
• Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
• Process manual off-cycle check payments as needed.
• Manage payroll staff.
• Provide training to team on policies, regulations, and processes.
• Must be able to work in a high volume, high demand, and fast faced environment.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 – 3 years of management experience.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now (preferred)
• Experience in Oil and Gas (preferred)
