BECHT Hiring for Advisor – Electrical Engineer at Remote Full Time

Who Do We Want?

Becht is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer with a balance of design and field installation/oversight experience in the Power Generation and/or Petrochemical industries to join our Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Division as a technical advisor. This position will report to our EIC Division Manager on a remote basis. Travel to project sites will be required; willingness to accept short term assignments (1 – 3 months) desirable. The successful candidate will be hired on a project by project basis.

The ideal candidate will have 10 to 25 years of experience in one or more of the areas outlined below. Basic Instrumentation & Control system knowledge including direct measurement elements, PLC Controllers and DCS systems while not required will be considered a plus.

Your Knowledge and Expertise:
Design and Specification of Low and Medium Voltage in-plant electrical distribution systems (460V – 36kV) including substations, transformers, circuit breakers, feeders, protective relaying MCC’s, and high voltage interconnections with Utility supply, etc.

Large synchronous and induction electric motor drives up to 5,000 – 10,000 kW including variable frequency / soft-start systems.

Electrical equipment/systems reliability improvement including development and implementation of PM programs

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Development/updating of Key Electrical One-Lind Diagrams

Instrumentation & Control System power supplies, grounding/bonding requirements and UPS systems

Understanding of System Load Flow and Stability analysis studies and familiarity with “ETAP” and other computer simulation software

Small project management including planning, estimating and scheduling
