The Role
This is an exciting new role for an experienced HR professional who is eager to make an impact in a fast-growing scientific publishing company, and on the world by promoting science in service of pressing world problems.
In this role, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department in the US, aligning with global teams. Specifically, you’ll lead important functions like participating in talent acquisition efforts for our growing US-based team; advising on and administering benefits and compensation; implementing and enforcing policies and company practices, and supporting efficient business operations. You’ll also play a vital role in bolstering company culture for our US office. Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the main point of contact and in-house expert for all HR inquiries in the US including employee relations, recruiting, DEI, compensation and organizational development, while ensuring alignment and close collaboration with the global People Team
· Support our talent acquisition process, partnering with hiring managers to ensure alignment on open positions, job descriptions, and recruitment strategies, also aligning with global HR teams.
· Manage the recruitment process, including proactively sourcing top candidates and building a talent pipeline through multiple channels incl. digital platforms and headhunter agencies; screening applications and shortlisting candidates in collaboration with hiring managers; and
managing the interview process (including scheduling interviews and collating and analyzing feedback)
· Draft employment agreements and amendments for new and current employees
· Ensure an outstanding candidate experience through prompt and consistent communication and follow-up feedback
· Assist in other administrative work to support the operations of the US office
· Manage employee relations issues, and provide timely and thorough guidance and coaching to managers and employees in coordination with the global People team
· Lead the review, development and communication of procedures and policies to improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
· Support the development and execution of HR-related programs within Business Units linked to the Employee Life Cycle / Experience / Development.
About You
· Solid experience as an HR generalist, with a strong background in talent recruitment; Track record of supporting fast-growing teams highly desirable.
· Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, and cultural awareness
· Strong diplomacy and adaptability skills to deal effectively with employees at all levels
· Discretion and ability to handle confidential matters diplomatically
· Problem solver, process oriented, and with excellent attention to detail
· Target-driven, business-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Knowledge of US Federal and State laws
