Job description – Quality Planner

VAC Developments is a growing Canadian Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Company located in East Oakville.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, The Quality Planner provides internal support to Planning, Production and Inspection, and interacts with customers on quality issues.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, execute and populate FAIR’s per AS9102.
• Support determining root cause and corrective action for internal systemic issues and customer rejections.
• Plan receiving, in process and final inspection activities as applicable.
• Instruct Production and Inspection personnel on Quality procedures and practices, and customer requirements.
• Liaise with Planning, Production and Quality department personnel on quality issues.
• Review and approve manufacturing plans prior to release to Production.
• Support customer FAI and source inspection activities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Technical degree or three years college diploma; and 3 to 5 years technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Familiar with best practices in Quality Assurance, including but not limited to application of SPC, error proofing, Plan-Do-Check-Act, PFMEA, MSA, KC, PPAP
• Knowledge and experience using MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of special processes (i.e. plating, heat treat, shot peen).
• Ability to comprehend and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Strong analytical skills to define, investigate, review data and draw valid conclusions for quality problems.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering documents, technical procedures, customer requirements and government regulations.
