C3 Specialty Glazing Solutions’ mission is to be Canada’s leading curtain wall retrofit company.  Our focus is on commercial and institutional retrofit work, the majority of which is completed on occupied buildings. We possess extensive experience working in and around occupied spaces and understand the importance of effective communication, safety and site control to ensure a successful project.

What you will be doing

• Develop project shop drawings (plans, elevations, sections, embeds, details, etc.).
• Create technical details for architectural exterior facade products including aluminum curtain wall, Storefront, screen walls, sunshades, ACM and metal panels.
• Coordinate façade dimensions to ensure proper fit between products and building structure.
• Coordinate multiple system interface details to accommodate differential movements imposed by seismic drift, thermal expansion, wind load and structural live load deflection for building façade.
• Design and coordinate system tie-in to rain screen air barrier systems.
• Initiate and facilitate the process for Request For Information (RFI) as required.
• Utilize knowledge of building codes governing building facades to support decisions
• Review, check and/or oversee checking of drawings, material takeoffs, fabrication drawings, etc.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to meet project milestones.
• Incorporate structural calculations and information into stamped drawings.
• Coordinate details to match architect’s intent.
• Use supplied for the project within the bounds of intended design.
• Assure constructability, construction tolerances and system limitations.
• Hire and manage external and freelance drafting agencies to meet the fluctuating drafting backlog.
• Collaborate with Engineer and Designer to evolve Project shop drawings.
• Participate in site investigations as required along with Project Manager, to evaluate and accommodate unknown project conditions into design.
• Participate in developing a quality control plan with Project Manager.

Qualifications We Are Seeking

Education

Bachelor Degree or College Diploma, Architectural, Mechanical or Structural Engineering

Knowledge of building construction methods and design

Experience

5+ years experience in project management and coordination

Working knowledge of technical language used in construction

Skills

MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) – Intermediate to Advanced

AutoCAD 2D – Advanced

BIM 3D Modeling Software, i.e. Revit, Inventor an asset – Intermediate/Advanced

Abilities

You have the ability to read and understand blue prints.

You have the ability to utilize general and advanced math skills, including algebra, trigonometry and geometry.

You have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, organize work assignments to ensure all projects are completed on schedule and manage multiple projects at the same time.

Working Conditions

We require that you possess a driver’s license and access to a vehicle to drive yourself to our offices as well as our construction sites. Our office is located in Brampton, ON with most of our active job sites being in the GTA.
