Ohio Truck Sales, a privately-owned business, is a national supplier of (2,000 annual) refurbished long hood semi-trucks with a unique refurbishing process to serve owner operators throughout the country. For the used semi-truck market, Ohio truck Sales is the premier supplier of professional owner operator, Kenworth & Peterbilt semi-trucks nationwide, with a “Carvana” type model. We offer the country’s largest and fastest growing used truck inventory for our customers to choose from. Ohio Truck Sales corporate office is based out of Sandusky, OH with manufacturing facilities located in Clyde, Ohio; with approximately 200 employees. Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resources Director will function as a strategic partner to the executive team of the organization. This individual will be responsible for directing and HR function that will be responsible for building an annual strategic HR operation plan, workforce planning, recruiting, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, and compensation/benefits

The incumbent will serve in an advisory capacity to the CFO and management team on organization-wide issues. This position have a team of 6 and will support a staff of 200+ employees (growing to 250+ in 2023) which includes – sales, finance, auto body technicians and mechanics, operations, supply chain and accounting.

Specific duties are intended to describe activities that support the summary above. The list is not all inclusive – other duties may be required to cover the breadth and depth of the position.

Planning:

1. Develop a comprehensive human resources strategy and implementation plan that will allow the organization to grow to a multi-site organization

2. Assess the current workforce capabilities, determine future workforce needs and develop a plan to close the gap through talent acquisition, employee development and coaching, and knowledge transfer among employees

3. Develop and deploy talent acquisition and onboarding processes designed to acquire and retain high performance talent; this includes preparing job descriptions and determine the optimal recruiting channels for hourly, professional, and executive level employees

Operations:

1. As a business leader, be an active participant on the executive team and participate in operational planning

• Develop and implement performance processes and systems including performance planning, feedback, and appraisal
• Identify training and education needs, develop, and implement plans, programs, and processes to meet those needs and consistently monitor the effectiveness of these programs
• Handle all employee relations issues and find resolutions that are customer focused and balance the needs of the individual employee and the organization

Supervision:

1. Supervise the Human Resources Department, the HR Manager is a direct report.

2. Supervise (2) HR Generalists

3. Supervise and direct the Recruiting Department; (3) Recruiters

Qualifications Include:

1. At least 8 plus years of progressive Human Resources experience in small to midsize companies; ideally in manufacturing with multi-site responsibility

2. Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, human resources management/development, etc., preferred

3. Experience recruiting all levels of talent

4. Intermediate/Advanced Experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook

Compensation & Benefits

• $140,000-$150,000 depending on skills and experience, plus annual bonus
