POSITION/TITLE: VP of Finance

REPORTS TO: President

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated VP of Finance to join our growing Reese Pharmaceutical team. This role will be responsible for advising ownership and key members of management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. They will also be responsible for helping establish, track and report on key performance indicators for the business. Additionally, they will be a part of the Executive Team and work towards identifying the long-term vision and goals for the company.

Reese Pharmaceutical is a family-owned company in Cleveland, Ohio that has been in business since 1907. The company occupies two locations in Cleveland and staffs approximately 55 employees. RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting
• Analyzing the company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets
• Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs
• Perform ROI on various projects including revenue initiatives, capital projects, and expense reduction projects
• Working with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking
• Assist with product costing, pricing, and customer/product profitability analyses
• Upgrading and implementing an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures
• Evaluate and implement tools, systems and processes to enhance financial planning effectiveness and efficiency
• Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters/reports
• Improving administrative and operational accounting services, such as treasury management, payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and inventory management
• Developing and coordinating all relationships with lending/financial institutions
• Coordinating relationships with outside CPA firm and consultants
• Monitor cash flows, maintain adequate cash reserves, and manage debt levels
• Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance
• Building and managing an accounting team as the company grows, including hiring, establishing and monitoring performance and development goals, assigning accountabilities, setting objectives, establishing priorities, conducting annual performance appraisals, and administering salary adjustments
• Provide leadership, oversight for all administrative team members (Office Manager, HR, IT)
• Oversee and coordinate IT consultants and services
• Promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning, technology, and a commitment to quality
• Actively participate in Executive Team meetings, by providing updates relating to financials and other areas of responsibility
• Taking on other finance and administrative duties as required

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• MBA Degree or CPA/CMA certificate is preferred
• 10 years of financial management experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position

QUALIFICATIONS / OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Strength in team building
• Technologically proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiar with ERP systems, preferably Syspro
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to contribute to process building with Operations, Sales, and Quality
• Strong mentoring / coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
• Excellent leadership, credibility and ethical conduct
• Ability to work additional hours including weekends, as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct supervision of Accounting, Office Manager, HR, and IT personnel
