The Challenge

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant is responsible for assistance with the day-to-day management of Finance, which includes but is not limited to: AP, AR, Month-end close, Compliance, Tax, Audit, and Payroll.

This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Expenditure

• Seek proper approvals before processing invoices / payments
• Process invoices/payments, ensure accuracy and minimize errors
• Prepare domestic and overseas payments to suppliers and contractors
• Assist on suppliers/stakeholder queries and resolve any issues in a timely manner
• Ensure invoices and payment documents are well maintained
• Review expense claims and process reimbursement per company policy
• Process prepayment ledgers during month end closing
• Assist on month end expense accruals

Accounts Receivable & Collection

• Assist on monthly invoicing process
• Assist on debtor collection and monitor overdue invoices
• Assist with submission of monthly invoices on customer platform

Cash management

• Prepare cash book and perform bank reconciliations on a weekly basis
• Perform credit card reconciliations
• Perform safeguard and assist on validation of supplier bank details
• Actively monitor net cash position and assist on cash forecast

Asset management and reconciliations

• Prepare fixed assets register, process assets additions, depreciation/amortization
• Perform assets management and assist on assets inventory project
• Ensure the FA register list is accurate and up to date
• Perform disposal, write-off of fixed assets in the financial system upon approval
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any issues identified
• Assist on any other reconciliations upon request

Statutory accounts, compliance and others ad hoc tasks

• Assist on BAS/GST or sales tax compliance
• Assist on the audit queries, sampling or reconciliation at half year & year end
• Other ad hoc tasks, such as assistance on statistic survey etc
• Ensures compliance with Company policies, standards and statutory requirements

Requirements

Desired skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting
• CPA or CA qualified (desired but not required)
• 3+ year post degree/qualification experience
• Practical experiences in using MS office (Excel: advanced level), G-suite (Google Sheet: advance level)
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles and software such as Xero (desired)
• Attention to detail with strong work ethic
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively, comfortable with working in a fully remote environment
• Strong organizational, prioritization and time management ability with a deadline focus.
