JOB TITLE: ESL Instructor

North Cedar Academy is a private, international university pathway boarding school situated on ninety- six acres along the Flambeau River in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The ESL instructor will provide specialized instruction for the purposes of developing the students’ ability to effectively perform courses of study in English and acquire the English language.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

*Create, Facilitate, and maintain an educational program and classroom environment resulting in high levels of achievement and conducive to students’ personal growth.

*Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge essential for them to become engaged

21st century global citizens.

*Establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships with all NCA stakeholders.

*Plan instruction, deliver curriculum, effectively assess and monitor student progress.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Optional Extra Curricular Activities coordinator positions available.

*Substitute for absent teachers.

*Attend all scheduled events (ex. concerts, special luncheons, graduation), whenever possible, engage and contribute to campus life.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

*Bachelor’s Degree in English or related field – (Required)

*Master’s Degree in English or related field – (Preferred)

*TESOL or TEFL Certificate-(Required)

Experience:

*Experience teaching ESL (English as a Second Language)

*Three years of teaching experience

KEY COMPETENCIES

Strong communication and organizational skills

Mastery of SIS software (ALMA)

Proficiency with 21st century classroom technologies

Classroom management skill

Flexibility and adaptability

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20,000.00 – $25,000.00 per year
