Position Overview:
The ByteDance/TikTok Global Payments team provides payment solutions to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience across all our platforms and services.

We are seeking a Head of Finance for our UK payment centre. This role will be a key contributor to the continued success of the business in the UK region. The new hire will play an integral role in assisting with the business decisions and will act as a strategic partner being part of the Leadership team. The new hire will be an individual contributor for the time being and in the future will have a great opportunity to expand their role as the team grows.

Responsibilities:1. Finance:

• Act as a primary senior contact point within the company for financial and accounting queries
• Act as a primary senior contact point for queries from regulatory authorities relating to the finance function of the firm
• Monitor and oversee the performance of outsourced services by outsourced service providers relating to the finance function
• Oversee the finance function in the UK market and ensure finance processes operate effectively and accurately delivering accurate financial insights into the business
• Oversee the preparation and updating of all finance policies and procedures.
• Carry out financial performance analysis for the regional business, generate performance improvement proposals
• Partner with other business units and provide insightful and quality financial advice to support the company’s business decision-making;
• Conduct regular industry analysis and Business Intelligence research
• Responsible for all financial reporting and monitoring, financial control and business forecasting.
• Assist the CEO to deliver overall UK strategy to the Board of Director

2. Treasury:

• Oversee liquidity management
• Assisting daily operations and clearing & settlements
• Monitor the safeguarding of customer funds in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and oversee reconciliation procedures.
• Take on global treasury management planning projects coordinating closely with the global treasury team

3. Accounting:

• Partner up with HQ accounting teams to periodically review and update major accounting policies and accounting estimates
• Prepare financial statements and other related information for external use (audit, submission to regulators, etc.), and play a leading role in external communication as the representative of the Finance department.
• Collaborate with HQ finance team to adjust financial statements based on reconciliation results. Sign off annual financial statements
• Produce EMR (Executive Managerial Report) on a regular basis and present it to the CEO and members of the board.
• Liaise with Clearing and Settlement HQ team to make certain adjustments to client billing statements based on reconciliation feedback
• 10+ years experience as a Finance professional at a payment/e-money institution, bank, fin-tech, financial regulatory agency and/or professional service firm serving financial institution clients
• 3+ experience working in a regulated entity/environment
• Must have held an approved position previously at a regulated entity.
• Previous Board/SMT level experience, or demonstrated the ability to directly to the Board/SMT;
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance (or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA)
• Ability to manage P&L performance (revenue and operating margin) including sales performance, direct and demand-driven costs to budget and overseeing budget setting across the company
• Corporate treasury experience
• Experience in and understanding of payments, e-money or wallet products/services, banking functions, MSBs and/or merchant processing
• Ability to communicate, in a timely manner, with the Board/SMT on financial performance and to provide high-quality impartial information to enable decision making in a regulated environment
• Ability to promote the company culture, values and behaviours and to ensure standards of performance are accepted and understood
• Ability to pursue new business opportunities, in support of P&L strategies and P&L performance and to create and execute a strategy across customers.
• Demonstrate thought leadership and market presence relating to best practices and innovation
• Good understanding of the payment technology industry
• Must be fluent in English
• Certified Treasury Professional qualification will be a plus but not required
• Must have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding rules, policies and procedures
