POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for (i) preparation and review of monthly financial statements, to include journal entry postings, monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset accounting; (ii) daily cash management activities; (iii) accounts receivable collection activity; (iv) year-end general ledger closing, and overall preparation of documents and coordination in support of annual audit work; (v) overall accounting tasks such as GET filings, bank loan compliance reports; and (vi) administrative assistance in support of our human resources department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversees and performs general ledger accounting activity and entries into the financial reporting system.
• Manages and assists the accountants, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and purchasing functions, supervising two direct reports.
• Checking and approving, AR, AP, Purchasing, and inventory transactions.
• Coordinates all banking and cash management daily activities and reconciliations.
• Assists with month end accounting close process.
• Review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Assists with product pricing and billing adjustments
• Assists the Controller in financial, budget, and inventory functions
• Assists with inventory management and cost accounting functions.
• Preparation of various governmental reports required and ensure compliance with reporting requirements of all State, Federal, Foreign Trade Zone and other regulatory agencies.
• Acts as a backup for payroll filings.
• Interfaces with PEO for HR related activity.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoors in an air-conditioned office. Some manufacturing plant and indoor/outdoor warehouse exposure.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS: Requires a high level of math, data analytics, reading, and writing skills. Must possess excellent communication skills. Requires sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time inputting data. Able to work with web-based software programs and common office equipment.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience, with three to five years experience in a supervisory role. Must have a thorough knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with applicable Hawaii tax laws. Manufacturing and cost accounting knowledge and experience is a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BS in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
