Engaging Minds Hiring for FALL 2022 Greater Boston Tutors Grades 4-12 Job at Newton, MA Full Time

Engaging Minds, an after-school learning center, is seeking tutors to work with students in grades 4-12, one-on-one after school IN PERSON at our facilities in Natick or Newton, MA and/or ONLINE via Zoom.

Engaging Minds offers a unique approach to traditional tutoring: in addition to providing support in writing, reading comprehension, and problem-solving, we focus on teaching the increasingly important executive function skills (organization, prioritization, initiation of tasks, time management, goal-setting, planning) and guide students to become independent and self-confident learners. We provide training and ongoing coaching. Engaging Minds is skills-based rather than a content-based tutoring program.

General information:

• Competitive pay: $37-$45/session
• No travel! All instruction takes place ONLINE or in-person in our Newton, MA center.
• Scheduling is flexible and provides for opportunities to tutor multiple students back-to-back.
• Materials, training and ongoing professional development are provided.
• After training, no prep-work for sessions necessary.
• We match tutors with students carefully to match learning style and appropriate grade level.
• Sessions run 55 minutes.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in education
• Earning a Master’s degree in education
• Special education teachers and aides
• Classroom teachers
• Assistant Teachers
• Reading and writing specialists
• School counselors
• Speech/Language specialists
