The Odom Group of companies is seeking a skilled, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented leader with experience in dynamic business environments to lead and manage our finance and accounting team. This position reports to the CFO and oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and risk management. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
The Director of Finance will have the following responsibilities:
· Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls
· Provide status on company financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data to the CFO and CEO
· Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new GAAP proclamations, legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports
· Manage all Federal and State taxes for the company
· Arranges for audits as required and appropriate
· Manages budget and controls expenses effectively
· Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively
· Keeps up to date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance
· Assist with implementation and monitoring of 401(k) plan
Background Profile:
· Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred
· 5 or more years of experience in managing the accounting and finance function in a small to medium sized company. Construction company experience preferred.
· Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities
· Personnel management experience
· Willing to take on additional responsibilities to assist in growth of multiple companies.
· Proven experience in structuring and implementing processes and controls in the finance and accounting functions. Evidence of creating and operating a stable, predictable finance organization in rapidly changing and growing businesses.
