Carnival Hiring for Junior Accountant Job at Sydney Full Time

It’s an exciting time to join Carnival Australia with the restart of cruising and the arrival of P&O Explorer! A fantastic entry role opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Chatswood on a 6-month max term maternity leave contract. This role will see you responsible for assisting the Financial Accounting Manager and Financial Controller in ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet in relation to bank reconciliations, business partnering with guest relations and our partners in Holland America Group, and identifying and implementing new process improvements.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare the daily reconciliation of bank accounts
• Assist with the review and application of customer deposits to Carnival booking system
• Oversee the refund processing for multiple brands
• Assist the financial accountant with any customer payment related queries raised from the business
• Maintain regular communication and strong relationships with Guest Relations and overseas partners within Holland America Group
• Identify and implement process improvements

About You:
You’re easy going who is keen to get in and learn whilst putting your new skills to use. This role will revolve heavily around data entry, so having an enthusiastic attitude to learn, have outstanding attention to detail, great excel skills with fantastic communication both verbal and written will see you be a great fit into the team.

• Previous experience in a high-volume data entry role or similar role
• Experience in Accounts payable (favourable)
• Strong excel skills
• Cheerful outlook with strong communications
• Strong commitment to customer service
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a repetitive environment
• Keen to start their career in the finance industry
