Assystem Energy & Infrastructure Looking for Asset Risk Manager at Scotland Full Time

Assystem is an International Engineering Consultancy with significant growth plans within our Energy and Infrastructure business here in the UK. Our Defence Infrastructure business are strategic partners to the MOD delivering significant infrastructure programmes across several defence critical sites, including some of Europe’s largest marine bases.

Assystem are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Asset Risk Manager

The Post can be based from any Assystem office but will require regular travel to Scotland.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure that the management of asset risks is aligned the organisation’s risk management approach
• Ensure that the approach to risk assessment and management is compliant with legal and statutory requirements and is consistent with stakeholder requirements and expectations
• Assess the risks associated with outsourcing any activities that can have an impact on the achievement of its asset management objectives
• Determine the risks to be addressed to enable the asset management system to achieve its required outcomes, prevent or reduce undesired effects on the asset management system, continually improve the asset management system, assess how these risks and opportunities can change over time
• Create and carry out action plans to address the risks and integrates the actions into its asset management processes
• Evaluate the effectiveness of its actions to address risks
• Document risk management processes for assets and asset management activities to: identify and assess risks, identify the criticality of assets with respect to achievement of asset management objectives, select and implement appropriate treatments for risks, monitor these treatments and their effectiveness
• Ensure that staff carrying out risk assessments are competent to perform the activity
• Document risks in a way that supports the identification, recording, evaluation, ranking/ prioritizing, reporting, review, updating and archiving and closure of business risk records
• Manage risks arising from the management of change, and assesses risks which can impact on achievement of objectives before the change is implemented
• Include the treatment and monitoring of risks in its processes for operational planning and control
• Evaluate and reports on the effectiveness of the processes for managing risks

Profile
Experience, Skills, Qualifications, & Attributes:
Essential:

• Experience as an Asset Manager, Reliability Engineer, System Engineer or Risk Manager/Analyst
• An understanding of either mechanical, electrical, civil or process engineering
• An understanding of asset degradation and failure
• An understanding of Criticality analysis
• An understanding of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis on Assets
• Experience of working within a Risk Management Software suite
• Experience of using Microsoft tools for analysing and report data and information

Desirable:

• Ideal candidates would already have experience within a similar nuclear / waterfront environment

**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
