Adjunct Faculty Role

We hire passionate educators who are looking to share their expertise with students from all over the country and those that value student engagement and enjoy supporting a diverse population of students from all walks of life.

We are looking for adjunct faculty who want to work with us to support learning comprehension and an understanding of the subject area as well as foster student engagement in the learning process. We strive with our faculty to provide students with opportunities for professional and intellectual development, as well as personal growth and success in learning.

Instructor Responsibilities

Provide synchronous and asynchronous instructional support to students

• Support student learning through rubric-based evaluation, providing thorough feedback that encourages student improvement and highlights student achievement

• Provide engagement opportunities through scheduled video conferences, recorded video sessions, and creating study guide materials

• Hold weekly office hours via live chat

• Share subject-matter expertise that creates connections between course content, critical thinking skills, and the broader curriculum

Collaborate with the TEL Instructional Team to:

• Support student success in courses by creating intervention strategies .

• Review and support teaching assistants in providing effective feedback to students.

• Provide adaptable solutions to a diverse student population.

This position reports to the Director of Academic Services.

Adjunct Faculty Requirements

Requirements for Hiring

• Masters Degree in English or 18 hours graduate credit in a related field

• A minimum of two years of experience as an instructor or teacher

• A minimum of one-year experience teaching digitally-supported or fully online courses

• Speaks English (required)

• Authorized to work in the U.S. (required)

Adjunct Faculty Training

• All new faculty teaching online are required to successfully complete onboarding and FERPA training as a condition of hire.

Required Documents

• Complete yearly FERPA training

• Provide current, official transcripts from undergraduate and graduate programs

Salary

• A full rate of $5000 will be broken into four (4) payments throughout the year
