Job Summary
The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with department staff and University academic departments to plan and implement activities of several programs within the Academic Programs department, ensuring goals and objectives are in accordance with established criteria. This position will be involved in scheduling courses, setting up tuition and fees, ensuring systems data is accurate, supporting financial transfers and expenditures, provides feedback and suggestions on marketing efforts, and providing student support, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements program goals and objectives.
- Oversees daily program operations and coordinates program activities.
- Provides support to academic departments, instructors, students, and others related to the program.
- Monitors program quality and effectiveness and researches improvement methods.
- Coordinates with academic departments, colleges, and instructors to plan and schedule noncredit certificate and contract course offerings.
- Ensures tuition and fees are accurately reflected and collected for courses. Supports financial transfers between departments, revenue sharing, and other expenditures.
- Monitors student enrollment and assists with adds, drops, and other changes.
- Works with instructors to ensure grades are submitted on time and assist with any necessary changes.
- Prepares reports, financial statements and records on program status and progress for management and academic departments.
- Coordinates with programs and marketing team to provide feedback and review flyers, emails, social media ads, website, and support other marketing efforts, as needed.
- Serves on various committees within the department and the university.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Preferences
- Two or more years related experience
- Thorough understanding of the University’s academic departments, degree major/minor and general education requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Works well independently
- Computer experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, Tableau and PeopleSoft
- University of Utah and/or Higher Education experience
