The ideal candidate will have up to 3 years of hands-on, accounting operations experience to include “full-cycle” A/P, A/R-Billing, Job Cost Accounting, financial statements, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing.

The duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Process accounts payable from invoice entry through cutting checks
• A/R – billing of customer invoices and collection of customer payments
• Daily accounting for all cash deposits
• Monthly bank reconciliations
• General ledger account reconciliations
• Process payroll and enter payroll journal entry and update vacation balances
• Organize and maintain all vendor and accounting records
• Preparing and updating spreadsheets weekly
• Research items; handle inquiries and information requests
• Responsible for meeting deliverables and client satisfaction for assigned clients
• Support assigned clients with cost-effective, accurate and compliant accounting services
• Basic updates to the budget file

Experience working for or with government contractors and Unanet, Deltek, CostPoint, and/or Quickbooks is preferred. This position will be located in Columbia, Maryland and is responsible for handling a significant volume of activity. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual. Qualified candidates will have the following characteristics:

• 0-3 years of accounting experience required with the energy and competence to learn
• Highly organized. Tedious about record-keeping, file organization, etc.
• Able to handle competing deliverables with various levels of complexity
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Extremely computer literate, strong MS Excel, MS Word skills are a must
• Motivated – A self-starter with ability to multi-task, problem solve, and take initiative
• Strong ability to learn new skills and systems
