Salted Stone Hiring for Bookkeeper Job at Sydney Full Time

Salted Stone is a full-service global marketing agency and we’re looking for a part-time bookkeeper/payroll officer to join our team.

This role is remote, although we have an office presence in Perth, WA and Parramatta NSW where you can choose to work from if that suits you.

You’ll be well supported in this role and work within a global team, but will need to have experience and a solid understanding of bookkeeping/payroll practices for here in Australia.

This role includes all aspects of general bookkeeping including preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements.

Although this role is part-time, to align with our payroll cycles, you will need to be available on Thursdays.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure APAC regional finances are managed and recorded according to ATO appropriate standards and compliance requirements.
• Recording all financial transactions and balancing of accounts with accurate and up-to-date data entry for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• General ledger management
• Data entry to Trial Balance stage as required
• Receipting, banking and filing of documents
• Preparation of monthly journal entries and financial reports
• Payroll preparation and lodgement (using STP) including PAYG, Deductions and Superannuation returns
• Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• Preparation of spreadsheets as requested using Microsoft or Google Suite Applications
• Assist and support the Financial Controller in bookkeeping and general accounting duties
• Liaise with the Financial Controller and the Accountant on financials and tax queries.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller to contribute and facilitate departmental improvements
• Manage debt collection and credit control of Accounts Receivable

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

• 3+ years of experience senior bookkeeping experience
• Advanced working knowledge of online accounting software
• Full knowledge of STP
• Excellent organisational and analytical skills including the ability to determine priorities and meet regular deadlines
• Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Contribute to a team in a professional and collaborative manner
• Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, tact and discretion
• Proficient in computing skills with strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, and good transactional knowledge
