Finance Analyst

As a Finance Assistant you will be supporting on our NHS contract at Tower 1. We provide the procurement for Ward Based Consumables for the NHS.

The role remit is to manage Tower 1 savings forecasts, achieved through proactively liaising with Tower Procurement colleagues, and capturing the latest opportunities and risks to inform a live forecast.

The individual will possess and develop the commercial awareness to collaboratively support the Procurement teams in finding and maximising potential new savings for the NHS.

The position ensures savings generated by Tower 1 Procurement are captured and recorded in the customer’s savings systems, liaising with the customer where required. The role will run Savings Reviews with buyers, provide supplier performance analysis and a range of other support activities to partner with Tower Procurement.

The Key Responsibilities of the Finance Analyst will include

• Savings Reporting
• Creation of savings actuals and forecasting, working cross functionally to ensure completeness / accuracy
• Undertake savings validation analysis to ensure all savings are captured by the customer
• Work with Procurement teams to understand new savings / risks as they emerge, capturing this in reporting
• Provision of analytics to the Procurement Tower to assist savings generation – for example creation of supplier trading performance analysis
• Completion of month-end external reporting to the customer
• Provide insight and forecasting of procurement tower savings / EBIT
• Work within T1T3 Finance team
• Business Partnering
• Work with the customer Savings and Additional Income teams to ensure completeness / accuracy of Tower savings numbers, identyfing and resolving discrepanices
• Facilitate Finance Savings Reviews with Procurement Towers, providing an overview of framework savings levers, and fielding buyer questions
• Provide buyers with OEC guidance for savings record creation
• Work with procurement teams to identify frustrated / foregone savings, understand root cause, and issue reporting
• OEC monitoring for out-of-date / MIRE (more information requested) records
• Create framework return-on-investment setting out areas for the Tower to prioritise and de-prioritise
• Open Book Cost Monitoring
• Work with Tower Procurement and Management Accounts Finance to ensure target Open Book costs are met

To be successful as a Junior Finance Analyst in DHL Supply Chain you need the following:

• Proven track record in a similar level role with experience of the above requirements
• Ability to influence key decision makers at all level
• Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and terminology
• People management experience and excellent communication skills
• Either relevant financial qualifications (AAT / CIMA etc.), training towards them or be qualified by experience Inquisitive nature to want to understand what is driving the data, and an ability to spot trends, patterns, opportunity and risk
• Excel
• Ability to work cross-functionally, drawing out all necessary inputs / outputs / information flows. Using inter-personal skills to bring Right First Time at all touch points and explain financial requirements to non financial senior managers
• Complete & accurate to the required level providing working assumptions and / or caveats. Able to work to strict deadlines, results orientated
