Accounts Payable Manager

Position Overview:

Plymouth Rock Assurance is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to provide strong leadership to our accounting operations division, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines to ensure that the department runs smoothly. In addition, this person will be responsible for many essential functions relating to the day to day as well as the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes of the firm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Directly manage a team of accounting professionals including interviewing, hiring and termination, performance management, coaching and mentoring.
• Responsible for outgoing cash for the Enterprise, including our flagship insurance carriers, management companies and related affiliates.
• Carry out reconciliation, payment and dispute resolution.
• Effectively drive a culture of collaboration, accountability and vendor service.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and professional response to vendor payment inquiries.
• Oversee daily/monthly accounts payable functions including employee reimbursements and agent commission payments.
• Oversee the proper setup of all payees, ensuring proper documentation is on file for tax purposes.
• Lead Administrator for SAP Concur Expense and Concur Travel program.
• Continually review payment planning/forecasting to improve cash position, efficiency metrics and financial ratios (including establishing staff responsibilities, payment parameters and setting measurable goals).
• Lead Administrator for our Enterprise Corporate AMEX Program.
• Internal and independent audit assistance – assist in the preparation of supporting documents, correspondence, and responses to any inquiries from the auditors.
• Annual 1099 processing and annual filings including B-Notice processes and related IRS response/communications.
• Proactively identify key trends and variances impacting cash flow.
• Quarterly and annual sales and use tax filings.
• Ensure prompt responsiveness to requests from Plymouth Rock colleagues as well as from third parties such agents, vendors and auditors.
• Responsible for establishing of yearly objectives as well as conducting formal mid-year and annual reviews.
• Improve processes, reducing manual elements of core team responsibilities and maximizing automation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing accounts payable professionals highly preferred.
• Experience with Concur Expense and Travel a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues.
• Accountable and committed to team goals.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
