Northwest Hardwoods Overview:

Northwest Hardwoods is the leading manufacturer of hardwood lumber in North America, as well as a leading supplier of panel products from around the world. A fully integrated, global supplier of wood products, NWH serves the furniture, flooring, cabinet, molding, and millwork industries. We are searching for a Log Accounting Clerk to join our team. This position reports directly to the Regional Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Setup and maintain log purchase contracts in the log accounting system.
• Import batch data into the log accounting system as loads are received.
• Reconcile load tickets with data imports.
• Process log purchases Accounts Payable.
• Send tickets and statements to log suppliers.
• Process log inventory transactions (e.g. consumption, transfers, sales, adjustments).
• Track estimated and actual log hauling costs for some scenarios.
• Create weekly and month end reports for management.
• Provide backup/coverage for other office administrative positions within the team.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• 2 or 4 year Accounting degree a plus. High School diploma required.
• Experience in log accounting management systems or equivalent is preferred. Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft’s Office Suite as well as other PC based programs is required.
• Priority on working safely and a willingness to help others maintain a safe workplace.
• Extended hours may be required but are infrequent.
• Must have a strong work ethic through self-motivation and effective time management, operate independently but also partner with others when needed, work in a changing environment, desire to learn new things, and demonstrate customer service traits with individuals both inside and outside the company.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
