Salary Range: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum

Location: Oxford

We are looking for a mid-level or senior software engineer with C++ experience and an interest in maths or physics to join our custom development team. In this special opportunity, we’re looking to increase our team’s C++ skills and contribute to physics modelling projects. The candidate should want to be trained in C#, and many projects they work on will be C# based.

Our key technologies are C#, ASP.NET, SQL, Python, and Typescript. However, we pride ourselves on our wide range of experiences, such as C++, JAVA, Angular, React, Flutter, Xamarin. As part of our team, we will expect you to be confident in C# development and have the ability to learn the other technologies with us on the job. Applicants must be able to work on-site from our client’s office in the Oxford area.

Essential experience and skills:

• Experience in C++ with 2 years of either commercial or academic experience
• Understanding of object-orientated coding principles
• Willingness to communicate with OCC’s clients to gather requirements, provide estimates and deliver software in an agile environment
• Ability to deliver software as part of a team

Desirable experience and skills:

• Experience with C++ 17
• Experience in C# with 2 years of either commercial or academic experience
• Experience building software applications from the ground up
• Experience in one or more of OCC’s additional technologies (SQL, WinForms, WPF, Python, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, JAVA, Angular, Xamarin, Flutter, Azure, AWS, Docker)
• 2:1 degree in a STEM subject, or higher
