Silver Airways Hiring for Accounting Supervisor Job at Hollywood, FL Full Time

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the corporate accounting team. This position requires independent thinking, and the ability to continuously improve existing accounting processes while encouraging a team-oriented work environment.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of three to five accountants
• Coordinate and support month-end and year-end close process (business combination accounting, debt accounting, etc.)
• Prepare key schedules for financial reporting, both internal and external
• Review and sign off general ledger statements
• Review and finalize periodic financial statements
• Write and maintain accounting policies topics, including preparation of formal memoranda to support research and conclusions
• Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Assist in external audit preparation
• Other duties, projects, and ad-hoc reporting as needed

Requirements Skills & Knowledge:

• Must possess public accounting experience
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and functions
• Solid understanding of the GL reconciliation and month end close process
• Ability to learn and become proficient in company’s ERP systems
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Month-end general ledger reconciliation experience
• Strong analytical skills of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
• Advanced skills with MS Office Suite
• Ability to interact with staff in a positive and professional manner
• Flexible work hours–position may require long hours and weekends
• Ability to work under pressure

Required and Preferred Characteristics:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Screen, and FBI Fingerprint & Criminal History check Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required in accounting or finance; MBA is a plus
• 4+ years accounting experience (public accounting or technical accounting)
• Experience in General Aviation, Airline, Cruise or Manufacturing preferred
• CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
