This is a great role for anyone already working in the charity sector or who is looking to transfer from an in-house or private practice role to do interesting, challenging, and meaningful work. You’ll undertake all aspects of financial management to ensure the financial integrity of the organisation and deliver timely and accurate financial information to enable strategic decision making, including the periodic management accounts, cash flows, annual report and review of controls and policies. You will strive to improve the efficiency of processes using data and digital tools to drive greater effectiveness across the charity.
What you’ll do:
Motivate and lead a team which services all the financial needs for the charity, developing and managing a department of ten people
Leading the annual statutory accounting process, consolidating the group accounts, collaborating with auditors to ensure compliance with regulations
Oversee the production of financial reporting to review charity performance against plan and manage cash flow forecasting
Provide technical support to budget managers on matters such as VAT and accounting principles with a commercially focused ethos
What you’ll bring:
Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to attract and retain talented people
ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with several years post qualification experience
Proven experience in leading a finance function, ensuring key outputs are improved to meet changing needs
Experience of producing consolidated statutory accounts and developing strong relationships with auditors and other key stakeholders
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, VAT and a commercial focus to support the development of sustainable financial models
