We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join us in our London office team on a maternity cover contract.

• Maternity cover contract (initially 9 months)
• Mid-May ideal start date
• Full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
• Hybrid working between home and office
• £27,000 – £29,000 per annum (pro rata)
• Full training provided

Purpose:

As the Finance Assistant, you will provide advice and guidance to the business on any financial related query, addressing all financial issues and providing information required by internal teams. You will be responsible for processing and maintaining the purchase ledger and daily sales administration. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will manage your workload effectively meeting multiple deadlines and responding to queries in a timely fashion.

Core responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger
• Process daily sales administration and maintain the sales ledger
• Processing and preparing payments
• Review all expense claims
• Obtain approval from departments for purchase invoices received
• Ensure all invoices and other paperwork is suitably filed and archived
• Respond to both internal and external queries via phone and email, in a timely fashion
• Monitor and administer the shared Accounts email inbox
• Handle the daily post for the Finance team (when in the office)
• Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise
• Assist with producing routine and ad-hoc reports as requested, including designing new reports
• Attend and contribute to regular Finance team meetings

Additional responsibilities:

• Process and administer staff discount transactions as needed in line with Company procedure

Skills/Knowledge:

• A minimum of 1 year accounts experience in the UK
• Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA (desirable but not essential)
• Competent user of accounts systems (e.g. SAP desirable), Microsoft Office (especially Excel at an intermediate level)
• Experience of online banking systems (desirable)
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Able to carry out a variety of tasks and meet deadlines

Ad hoc duties:

As with all roles, you may at times be required to carry out ad hoc duties; whether that is support another team member, take on additional responsibilities or get involved in project work that may impact not only on your department, but also the wider business.
