Leading the Corporate Finance team in the provision of financial services and support to both internal and external customers; driving financial performance, continuous improvement and statutory compliance.
The location for these role is flexible and can be based at Risley and Workington.

Role Responsibility
Main Responsibilities for Head of Corporate Finance:

• Leading and developing the Corporate Finance team.
• Acting as trusted advisor to the Strategy and Insight function, contributing fully to the development of company strategy across all areas challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all plans.
• Acting as trusted advisor to the Heads of Function across Professional Services, Delivery and Infrastructure contributing fully to the development of departmental strategy.
• Overseeing the provision of timely, accurate financial analysis and management information to support business decision making.
• Developing and maintaining all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective business wide financial management and control.
• Ensuring that business transactions are accounted for in line with relevant finance policies.
• Ensuring that finance policies and procedures comply with International Financial Reporting Standards, the requirements of the Companies Act 2006, UK Corporate taxation legislation and the NNL framework document.
• Developing and maintaining internal standard costing models.
• Providing an effective and efficient financial transaction processing capability that meets the current needs of NNL and is able to respond to future requirements.
• Managing the company forecasting and budgeting processes, providing consolidated company information for approval by the Business Performance Leadership Team.
• Ensuring that activities of Corporate Finance comply with internal policies on risk, assurance and EHSSQ.
• Working closely with Business Partners and Heads of Function / Capability / Site to identify significant risks and opportunities and to define appropriate action plans.
• Providing professional advice on the accounting and taxation treatments of company activities.
• Establishing a high level of credibility and managing strong working relationships with external providers of financial services such as auditors, tax advisors, HMRC, bankers, actuaries, pensions advisors and pension scheme trustees.
• Provide professional advice on the cash flow impacts of company activities.
• Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement in the function.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria for Head of Corporate Finance:

• Qualified Accountant (preferably ACA or ACCA but could be CIMA) with demonstrable post qualification experience.
• Demonstrable senior level accounting experience.
• Significant knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Significant knowledge of UK Corporate Taxation legislation.
• Previous Finance Business Partnering experience in a commercial environment.
• Significant leadership experience.
• Insightful and influential leader able to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
• Pro Active, highly motivated and enthusiastic.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the finance team and across the business.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
