Due to continued growth our successful client based in London is now recruiting for a versatile and technically minded Software Architect to provide leadership and act as a technical authority for the design and development of software systems which are both reliable and scalable, ensuring that business requirements are understood and met.

With over 10 years’ experience this established business has an enviable world-wide reputation within the specialist field of marine electronics. This has been achieved by providing an excellent level of service to their extensive client base and through the design and manufacture of prestigious marine electronic equipment.

The successful software lead will need to be a strong communicator, liaising with other department heads and providing direction to the development team concisely. This position is a pivotal one to their software development function, and will suit someone eager to make a significant impression and difference to an already strong development team.

A great software architect has a strong technical background and excellent IT skills. They are experienced in designing and possess ability to develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions.

The goal is to provide a framework for the development of a software or system that will result in high quality IT solutions in the marine electronics sector

The duties consist of, but are not limited to:

• Proven experience as a Software Architect is essential
• Extensive experience of developing with C++
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
• Experience of writing code for embedded electronic products with resource constraints
• Strong understanding of algorithms
• Software Design and Architecture
• Providing leadership and technical direction to developers
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
• Experience with Control, Automotive or Marine Electronics would be ideal
