Job Title: Information Technology Technician

Location: 44160 Yale Road West, Chilliwack, BC

Job purpose: The IT technician supports Southern Irrigation Operations by maintaining, repairing, and upgrading employee workstations, peripherals, and network/data systems.

Key Result Areas

Southern Irrigation’s IT systems are secure and functioning well so other employees using them can do their tasks effectively.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Setup and maintain IT assets such as computers, printers, phones

Perform repairs on a variety of hardware components on network systems, including PCs, PC peripheral devices, PC printers, terminals, remote printers, terminal printers, associated software, communications equipment, modems, and cables

Perform installation, configuration, documentation, and distribution of equipment and software to users as required

Provide support to network administrator in maintaining Southern’s network systems

Provide quality training to users on software and equipment

Provide support in maintaining an inventory of software and hardware

Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

Competencies

Professional English verbal and written communication skills

Ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute potential solutions

Self-motivated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on efficiency

Good problem solving and decision-making skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook, NAV)

Knowledge of office IT systems including networks, computer hardware, and office equipment
